The apex body of chemists has declared a day-long nationwide strike Friday to protest the Centre's move to regularise online pharmacies. The All India Organisation of Chemists and Druggists (AIOCD) is opposing the government's decision, stating e-pharmacy poses threat to their business and could lead to the risk of drug abuse. In the wake of this nationwide strike, the normal life has been thrown out of gear in Uttar Pradesh, including the capital city Lucknow. Uttar Pradesh on Friday woke up to an isolated road with all business establishments and transports remaining closed across the state.
