Polls 2019: BJP to release list of candidates for first phase today

The Bharatiya Janata Party BJP is likely to release its first list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections on Saturday evening. The BJP central election committee will meet in the evening to discuss candidates for seats from Bihar, western Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Karnataka and West Bengal. A total of 188 seats go to polls in the first two phases of polling to be held on April 11 and 18. With several leaders from the Congress and other Opposition parties taking the saffron plunge, the BJP is looking to expand its footprint in states such as Kerala and West Bengal this time around.
