Rajya Sabha passes historic 10 % Quota Bill for economically weaker sections in upper castes

A landmark Constitutional amendment bill seeking to provide 10 per cent reservation in jobs and education for the economically backward in upper castes (general category) was passed by the Rajya Sabha, with most parties supporting the measure, described by the government as "historic" and in the country's interest.
