Heavily-armed Bangladeshi commandos today stormed a restaurant in Dhaka’s high-security diplomatic area where suspected Islamic State militants were holding many people hostage, including foreigners, since last night. Gunshots and sounds of explosion started to rock the area at 7:40 AM (local time) as security forces launched an offensive to end the 11-hour-long hostage crisis at a cafe in Dhaka’s diplomatic zone Gulshan.
