Shivratri: Devotees offer prayers at Shiva shrines across nation

Today, on the occasion of Shravan Shivratri, devotees are queueing up in the temples of Lord Shiva to seek blessings. It is believed that in the pious month of Shravan Lord Shiva had taken poison during ‘samundra manthan’ to stop the destruction of the universe.
