Speed News at 8AM on Nov 26: Deposits in Jan Dhan accounts rise to Rs 64,250 crore post demonetisation

Jan Dhan accounts have witnessed huge sure in deposits, with a whopping Rs 64,252.15 crore being parked in such accounts, the government said on Friday. Uttar Pradesh has emerged as the leader in this chart with Rs 10,670.62 crore deposits, followed by West Bengal and Rajasthan. The Centre also stressed that no public sector banks had given any instructions to their officials to deposit Re 1 or 2 to avoid zero balance in Jan Dhan accounts.
