UP: Father of Unnao woman who accused BJP MLA of rape dies in hospital

On Monday, the father of a woman who alleged she was raped by a BJP MLA and his accomplices passed away in police custody, reported ANI. He was arrested on Sunday. His daughter and her family had tried to commit suicide outside UP CM Yogi Adityanath’s residence in Lucknow. However, the relatives alleged that he was murdered in the jail by Kuldeep Singh Sengar, the BJP MLA from Unnao named as accused by the rape victim. DIG Law and Order said that a magisterial inquiry will be conducted, and action will be taken against the police is any lapses were found.
