News Nation Bureau 23 July 2019, 11:49 AM
A day after US President Donald Trump claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had asked him to mediate between New Delhi and Islamabad over the Kashmir issue, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar categorically denied the claim in the Rajya Sabha today. “I would like to categorically assure the House that no such request has been made by PM Modi.” Jaishankar said. He also added, “It has been India's consistent position that all outstanding issues with Pakistan are discussed only bilaterally. Any engagement with Pakistan would require an end to cross-border terrorism.”
