Uttarakhand: With torrential rainfall, flood alert in Rishikesh

After heavy rainfall in the past couple of days in Uttarakhand, water level in Rishikesh’s river Ganga hovers around danger mark. People living close to embankment of river have been asked to move to a safer location as flood-like situation is likely to occur in the area. In some of the religious sites, river water has already entered, causing severe danger to the worshippers. The monsoon rainfall has already damaged the roads and bridges in several places in the state.
