Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu rejects Opposition's impeachment notice against CJI

Rajya Sabha Chairman and Vice-President of India Venkaiah Naidu on Monday rejected a notice by opposition parties which sought to remove Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra. Naidu said that the notice lacked substantial merit and the allegations were not admissible. Naidu took the decision after extensive consultations with government law officers, and former Rajya Sabha secretaries general, according to reports.
