Why Siachen strategically so important for India? Here’s answer

Newly-appointed Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will visit Siachen, the highest militarised zone in the world, on Monday to meet the armed forces troops posted there. His predecessors Nirmala Smitharaman and late Manohar Parrikar also visited the world’s highest military camp. On October 23, 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi became the first PM to celebrate Diwali at Siachen camp. Here’s a special report on Siachen.
