Temple priest to contest LS polls from Mathura against Hema Malini

Fakkar Baba, an octogenarian temple priest, is all set to fight the Lok Sabha Elections 2019 for the record 16th time with an aim to put a complete ban on cow slaughter. This year, he will be contesting as an Independent candidate from Mathura Lok Sabha constituency against BJP MP Hema Malini. It will be his eighth attempt in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. Uttar Pradesh – the politically-sensitive state which sends 80 members to the Lok Sabha – will go to polls in seven phases starting from April 11 to May 19. The counting of votes will be taken up on May 23.
