Told my party not to allow Citizenship Amendment Bill in RS: Rahul

Congress president Rahul Gandhi said that the Congress if voted to power at the Centre, will not allow the Citizenship Amendment Bill to be passed in the Rajya Sabha. “I told Congress to eliminate the Bill in Rajya Sabha,†he said while addressing a rally in Arunachal Pradesh. The Bill provides for according Indian citizenship to the the Hindus, Jains, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists and Parsis from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan after 6-year of residence in India instead of 12 years currently even if they do not possess any document.
