Nation View: Virtual revolt by 4 SC judges against CJI, say democracy at stake

Four of the five senior-most judges of the Supreme Court on Friday held an unprecedented press conference against Chief Justice of India (CJI) Dipak Misra. During the press briefing, four SC judges - Justices Jasti Chelameswar, Ranjan Gogoi, Madan Lokur and Kurian Joseph - levelled serious charges against the CJI and even called on people to decide his impeachment. The four senior judges said, “unless the Supreme Court is preserved, democracy will not survive in this country.â€
