After India Bans Export, Onion Prices Soar In Bangladesh

A ban on onion exports by India has caused shortages, soaring prices and widespread anger in neighbouring Bangladesh. In the Bangladesh capital, consumers are now being asked to pay 120 taka (US dollar 1.42) per kilogramme for their prized onions - twice the price a fortnight ago and the highest since December 2013.
