Use of mobile phones in the district jail here has come to light after a selfie of five inmates went viral on the social media with prison authorities ordering an inquiry. A selfie of the five undertrial inmates, who were arrested in murder cases, has been uploaded on Facebook by them, Jail Superintendent Rakesh Singh said.The selfie has gone viral on the social media, he said. An inquiry has been ordered into the incident, Singh said.22 mobile phones and 30 SIM cards were seized from the possession of prisoners by authorities on March 13, after complaints about extortion calls being made by inmates.
