A severely emaciated child who was accused of witchcraft and abandoned by his family has made an extraordinary recovery after being rescued by an aid worker.
Hope was found on road riddled with worms as he was forced to live off scraps of food thrown to him by passers by. This little boy was accused of witchcraft by his family and society.
Hope was then found and rescued by Anja Ringgren Loven, a Danish woman living in Africa who is the founder of African Children's Aid Education and Development Foundation. The Foundation helps neglected children disowned by their families after being labelled as witches.
However the new pictures show a new Hope, all healthy and happy unlike the time when he looked famished. Hope’s transformation is a message to the world in itself.
His story when shared on social media triggered strong reaction among folks on human rights. Not only this has sparked a huge campaign on social media called ‘One Word To One World’, whereby people post photos of themselves holding a ‘Hope’ sign.
