Goa, which is considered as the favourite destination in India for beach lovers has been declared as unsafe by Russia foreign ministry. The west side costal are of Goa is considered as one of the favourite by the Russian tourists.
The move which came following Russia’s updating of holiday list after Turkey incident is likely to have a direct effect on tourism industry in Goa.
However, removal of Goa is not regarding terrorism but some ‘ugly incidents’ as said by Russian office in Goa in a statement.
Interestingly, regions like Cuba, south Vietnam and southern China are placed amongst 'safe' destinations in the new list issued by Russia, a report in a news report said quoting the Russian news agency INTERFAX.
"Both India and Goa were not considered as good destinations for Russian travellers," said Ekaterina Belyakova, head of the Russian information centre.
Russia which is considered as a close partner of India on international front in all aspects shares a very cordial history with India.
After an attack on a passenger plane Moscow had launched a very massive airstrike drive to eliminate ISIS.
On same mission, a Russian fighter plane which flying near Turkish border was downed by country’s Army.
Russia had called the action as ‘stab in the back’. The recent change in the tourist list is a result of the same incident.
