Brave Indian soldiers faced the terrorists when heavily-armed Pakistani terrorists on Saturday attempted to storm the Air Force base in Pathankot. It had triggered a day-long gunbattle in which we lost our valiant soldiers who fought for the country.

The 35-year-old commando, a member of NSG's Bomb Disposal Squad was martyred while defusing a grenade at the scene of the attack
Fateh Singh was well known as a champion shooter. He had even won India gold and silver medals at the international level during the Commonwealth Games
Singh was from Ambala, he was hit during the initial round of gunfire, he continued to fight but died before medical help arrived
He was one of the martyrs who was killed during the gunfire while fighting for the country. Kulwant Singh was from Gurdaspur
51-year-old Singh Rana was the sole breadwinner of his family, died after five bullets hit him in the chest when terrorists entered the air force base
He was transferred from Leh to Pathankot a few months ago only. Chand, a cook at the base was in the kitchen when the terrorists entered and he fought for the country
