New Delhi:

The Supreme Court on Friday barred BCCI from releasing funds to state associations. Giving orders after the cricketing board failed to comply with the Lodha panel recommendations, the apex court said that state associations will not get funds unless a resolution is passed to implement justice Lodha committee reforms.

Earlier on Thursday, the Board of Control For Cricket in India (BCCI) faced the Supreme Court's wrath for its "defiant attitude" in implementing the directions of the Justice RM Lodha committee to reform cricket in the country and "hurriedly" disbursing around Rs 400 crores to state bodies.

During the hearing, Chief Justice of India TS Thakur enquired about BCCI President and BJP parliamentarian Anurag Thakur. He questioned whether the office bearers of the board were professionally qualified.

The apex court bench warned the cricketing board to either fire the entire top adminstration or ask Lodha Panel to give them time to implement the recommendations. However, BCCI failed to give a time line for the same as directed by the court.
