New Delhi:
Just a day after the biggest announcement of demonetising Rs. 500 and 1000 notes by PM Narendra Modi, Police found sacks full of burnt notes at a place in Bareilly on Wednesday.
According to informed sources, the burnt currency was brought in sacks and then dumped by workers of a company on Parsa Kheda road at CB Ganj in Bareilly. Police officials said prima facie, the notes appeared to have been cut, damaged and then burnt.
Though the police has taken over the remnants of the currency notes and Reserve Bank of India (RBI) officials have also been informed of the incident. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday had announced this massive crackdown on black money.
With this surprise announcement in his televised address to the nation PM Modi declared a decisive war against corruption and black money, as he assured the common people that their money remains safe.
