New Delhi:

State Bank of India (SBI) chairperson Arundhati Bhattacharya announced on Monday that the ATMs will soon start dispensing Rs 20 and Rs 50 notes after the rush at ATM counters decreases.

This move would help in easing the inconvenience caused to the masses with ATMs running out of cash and also be beneficial to the common man in the long run.

Bhattacharya added that ATMs are emptying out fast because it has a fixed space for notes of 100 and also the dimension of the new notes has changed, adding that the holding capacity in the ATM is confined.

Large section of population was in a panic after Narendra Modi government announced demonetisation of the existing notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000. After November 8, the notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 lost their legal tender values and were declared illegal for transaction.
