Wiping Off Her Tears, Radha Told Her Painful Story. 15 Years After The Parliament Attack And Radha Has Still Not Been Imparted Justice Or Any Government Help. Still 42-years-old Radha Has Not Lost Hope, Nor Is She Broken. She Hopes That One Day Justice Will Prevail.

It was a fateful Thursday morning of December 13, 2001 when the Indian Parliament was attacked by Lashkar-e-Taiba (Let) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists.8 people including six Delhi Police personnel, two Parliament Security Serviceman lost their life, while 16 others got injured in this brutal attack carried out by five Pakistani terrorists.

Among injured was Radha Chauhan, a senior platoon commander in the Delhi Home Guard department deployed at the gate number five of the Parliament. Constable Kamlesh Kumari Yadav, of CRPF was the first to spot the terrorists and was shot by them as she raised the alarm. When Radha heard the noise of bullets, she rushed to Kamlesh Kumari to help her.

While tacking the terrorists, Radha got injured by two bullets, one of which hit her in leg and another at her waist. When she resumed consciousness, she found herself in Ram Manohar Lohia hospital in Delhi where she was undergoing treatment.

When she resumed her duty after 10 days, she was told to submit her uniform to the department and was conveyed to not join services back. Since then she has not been able to resume her duty again.

This completely shattered Radha, who in an attempt to get her service back, fought a long battle to get justice. She met DG, Home Guard, She went to Delhi Police Commissioner, She took her plea to Woman’s commission and even went to court, but it’s been 15 years to that fateful day, Radha only got assurance.

Meanwhile her life partner too left her. Amid increasing financial crisis, Radha started working as domestic help. She even dropped her only daughter to her sister’s place so that, she get quality education.

Wiping off her tears, Radha told her painful story. 15 years after the Parliament attack and Radha has still not been imparted justice or any government help.

Still 42-years-old Radha has not lost hope, nor is she broken. She hopes that one day justice will prevail.
