New Delhi:

The makers of superstar Suriya's much awaited 'Singham 3' has decided to postpone the release of the movie, after cyclone Vardhah made massive destruction in Tamil Nadu and Chennai.

'Singham 3' was supposed to hit the theatres on December 23.

According to the media reports, while people are still limping back to normalcy post cyclone Vardah, the makers feel that this isn't a perfect time to release such a big movie in such a situation as it might effect its box office collection at a large scale.

Besides, it is also stated that people are in Tamil Nadu are yet to recover from the demise of their CM Jayalalitha early this month, which too can have an adverse effect on the business of 'Singham 3'.

The media reports suggests that the makers are eyeing for a Republic Day (January 26) release for 'Singham 3'. Reportedly, the team wanted to release the movie on Pongal on January 12, however, they had to drop the idea as Vijay's 'Bairavaa' is also hitting the theatres on the same date.

Interestingly, this is the second time 'Singham 3' has been postponed. Earlier, the movie was supposed to be out on December 16. However, it was delayed for a week by the makers.

So far, no official announcement has been made regarding the new release date of the movie.

Helmed by Hari, 'Singham 3' is an action thriller and also features Anushka Shetty and Shruti Hassan in key roles.
