Congress Vice President demanded waiving of farmers' loans, cutting farmer’s electricity bills by half and increasing of supporting price of crops. Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised to look into the matter.

"We have requested Prime Minister to waive off farmers' loans. PM accepted that the situation of farmers is bad but he did not say anything on waiving farmers' loans," said Rahul Gandhi after meeting PM. 

Rahul also said that farmers are committing suicide all over the country, government removed import duty on wheat which is a devastating blow.

The Congress leader has got demand letters filled by almost 2 crore farmers in Uttar Pradesh and 34 lakh farmers in Punjab. On the basis of this demand letter, Rahul raised demand with the PM.

Along with Rahul Gandhi, many Congress leaders including Ghulam Nabi Azad, Mallikarjun Kharge, Jyotiraditya Scindiya, Raj Babbar met Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
