New Delhi:

Pratham an Indian ionospheric research satellite at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, that was initiated by a team of students. The satellite is responding positively after receiving a beacon signal twice at the ground station at the campus.The spacecraft is structured as a cube with 26-centimetre (10 in) sides, and a mass of around 10.15 kilograms (22.4 lb).

HAM group from all over the world including Indonesia, Chicago, Brazil and Netherlands has confirmed the satellite functionality.

Pratham is being operated and take care by the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay students is a part of the student satellite initiative.Its mission of the spacecraft is to count electrons in the Earth’s ionosphere.
