With 33 seats Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is getting an upper edge in neck to neck contest for Delhi Assembly, according to News Nation’s in-house opinion poll.
With a loss of one seat from what it got earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi led BJP will get 31 seats. This will be the first time that BJP will see a downfall in its seat share in any Assembly Polls since the party came to power in Centre.
Arvind Kejriwal is the clear choice for Chief Minister with 40 per cent vote share. He is way ahead of Harsh Vardhan (19%) and BJP’s newly inducted star campaigner Kiran Bedi (15%). Former Delhi CM Sheila Dikhit is still the choice for 10 per cent respondents.
The opinion poll was conducted from 11th to 15th January with a sample size of 3195 randomly selected respondents across Delhi.
According to the opinion poll, AAP is all set to bag 33 seats in Delhi Assembly. This is 5 seats more than their last tally of 28 seats.
Whereas, BJPâ€™s tally is expected to go down to 31 seats from 32. The party was reduced to 28 seats in the Assembly after three MLAs Harsh Vardhan, Ramesh Bidhuri and Pervesh Verma were elected to the Parliament.
The Congress party is expected to further lose 3 seats and its tally is expected to marginalise to 5 seats from the current 8 seats in Delhi Assembly.
AAP is getting 39 percent vote share which is a huge jump of 9 percent as compared to what it got in last Assembly elections.
In last Assembly elections, AAP got 30 percent of popular vote share but this time the party is expected to bag 39 percent vote share.
The BJP is behind AAP by 4 percent as the party is getting 35 per cent vote share in upcoming Delhi Assembly Polls. This new vote share is 2 per cent more than the 33 per cent that it got in last Assembly elections.
Congress is expected to suffer a huge loss of 10 per cent votes as compared to what it got in last assembly elections.
Congress got 25 percent of popular votes in last elections but now they are expected to bag only 15 percent votes.
