In round two of Chhattisgarh Assembly elections, Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Monday launched a cutting attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Raman Singh over a bunch of issues, including joblessness, Land Acquisition Act, Rafale deal and corruption.

Addressing a public gathering in Chhattisgarh’s Baloda Bazar, the Congress chief said that despite several programs, including Make in India, the prime minister failed to generate jobs for the youth of the country.

“Unemployment is the biggest issue of the country. In the last four and half years, several programs, including the Make in India, were launched, but still the truth is that Modi government is generating only 450 jobs per day,” Gandhi said.

The Congress president further attacked the prime minister over the Land Acquisition Act which was implemented by the UPA government but after coming to power the Modi government made certain changes in that.

“Land Acquisition Act implemented by Congress government sought to protect farmers' land. Modi's first job after becoming the Prime Minister was to abolish this,” the Gandhi scion said.

The Gandhi scion promised that if elected to power, the Congress party will provide MSP of Rs 2500 for paddy and establish a food processing plants in every district.

"Congress party will provide MSP of ₹2500 for paddy. We will establish food processing plants in every district, which will provide employment to youth and fair prices to farmers' yield," he said.
