Three days ahead of the first phase of Chhattisgarh Assembly elections, Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Friday arrived in Raipur on a two-day visit to intensify his party’s campaign in the poll-bound state. The first day of Gandhi’s Chhattisgarh visit started with a public meeting at Pakhanjore, which will be followed by two more similar meetings at Khairagarh and Dingargarh. Later in the day, the Congress chief will address a public rally at Gunj Chowk. 

The first phase of Assembly elections in Chhattisgarh will be held on November 12. In the first phase, as many as 190 candidates, including state Chief Minister Raman Singh will be in the fray for 18 seats. The voting for the first phase of elections will be held on Dantewada, Bijapur, Konta, Khairagarh, Dongargarh, Rajnandgaon, Dongargaon, Khujji, Mohla-Manpur, Antagarh, Bhanupratappur, Kanker, Kondagaon, Narayanpur, Bastar, Jagdalpur, Keshkal and Chitrakot Assembly seats.
