New Delhi:

Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi over development claims which the latter is citing in rallies ahead of Gujarat assembly polls in December.

Rahul wrote on Twitter and asked the prime minister about 50 lakhs new households which he had promised in 2012.

Only 4.72 lakhs new houses have been built so far, he said. "Do you take another 45 more years to fulfil these promises," the Congress vice-president asked.

A few days back, the Congress vice president had cited a media report on a drop in the production of 'Nano' cars at a Gujarat plant and said Prime Minister Narendra Modi's pet 'Make in India' project "just died" turning Gujarati taxpayers' Rs 33,000 crore into "ash".

Gandhi had also asked who should be held accountable for the money becoming "ash".

The Congress vice president had reportedly been saying that the Gujarat government had proffered "benefits" worth Rs 33,000 crore to the car project in Sanand.
