Congress leader Alpesh Thakor reveals secret behind PM Modi's fair complexion; Taiwan mushrooms

The recently-inducted Congress leader Alpesh Thakor during an election rally on the last day of second phase campaigning said that the “fair complexion” secret of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is “imported mushrooms from Taiwan.”

Thakor, who is contesting from Radhanpur constituency, said, “Modiji eats mushroom from Taiwan everyday. Each costs Rs 80,000 and he eats five everyday.”

The OBC leader claimed, “PM Modi was dark like me but he became fair of imported mushrooms.”

Thakor added that he had been wondering how PM Modi become “gora chitta like tomatoes”. “When someone told me that, PM Modi does not eat food eaten by poor. What he eats, poor cannot afford. He further told me Modiji consumes mushrooms worth Rs. 1 crore 20 lakh a month. He eats mushrooms like poor eat roti-dal," added the Congress leader.

Thakor while addressing the rally also claimed that the PM Modi has been consuming the mushrooms since he was chief minister of Gujarat.

Soon after the video was telecasted on news channel, Thakor’s was ridiculed on social media, ‘imported mushrooms’ became trending and also triggered a meme war on Twitter with users sharing before and after photographs of many politicians and celebrities.
