Haryana Assembly Election: BJP Releases Manifesto, Promises To Double Farmers' Income By 2022

The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday released its manifesto for the Haryana Assembly Elections promising measures to double the farmers’ income by 2022. The manifesto ‘Mhare sapno ka Haryana’ was released by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, party’s national working president JP Nadda and other BJP leaders in Chandigarh. The manifesto also underlines party’s vision to ensure irrigation cards and water for irrigation to all the farmers in the state. It said one lakh solar pumps will also be provided to farmers.

Along with this, the manifesto has the promise of providing self-defence training to women and super speciality hospitals in all the 22 districts of the state. On the employment front, BJP promised to invest Rs 5,000 crore in order to help enhance skills of 25 lakh youths of the state.

Haryana will go to polls on October 21st and the results will be announced on Oct 24th.

Earlier, Congress released its manifesto ‘Sankalp Patra’ promising loan waiver for farmers and reservation for women in government jobs. Describing the manifesto as ‘Sankalp Patra’, the party promised 33 per cent reservation to women in government jobs and private institutions in the state and free rides in state’s roadways buses.

Congress’ promises also included 50 per cent reservation for women in Panchayati Raj institution, municipality corporations and city councils. The party also promised to give an annual scholarship of Rs 12,000 to students from Class 1 to 10 and Rs 15,000 for students from class 11 to 12 who belong to Scheduled Caste community and extremely backward class.
