New Delhi:

Haryana Assembly Elections 2019: Congress released its list for 84 candidates for the upcoming Haryana assembly polls on Wednesday night. The party has given ticket to all sitting MLAs except one. However, the names of Haryana Congress chief Kumari Selja and former state president Ashok Tanwar do not features in the list. Out of the 17 sitting MLAs in the Haryana Assembly, Renuka Vishnoi who represented the Hansi constituency, has not been given the ticket this time.

Elections to the 90-member Haryana Assembly will be held on October 21 and results will be declared on October 24.

Former chief minister Bhupinder Hooda will contest from his Garhi Sampla-Kiloi seat. Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala will contest from Kaithal Assembly constituency.

Among the other big names to feature in the list are both sons of former chief minister late Bhajan Lal. While Kuldeep Vishnoi has been given the ticket from Adampur in Hisar, his brother and former deputy chief minister Chander Mohan has been fielded from the Panchkula seat.

Ranveer Mahindra and Kiran Chaudhary, the son and daughter-in-law of former chief minister Bansi Lal, have also been given party tickets from Badhra and Tosham respectively.

Former Assembly speaker Kuldeep Sharma has been fielded from the Ganaur Assembly seat. Former minister Geeta Bhukkal has been fielded from the Jhajjar reserved constituency. Former minister Anand Singh Dangi will contenst from his traditional Meham constituency.

Congress Infighting Reaches 10, Janpath

With Ashok Tanwar's name not being included on the list, it seems party is still suffering from infighting in the state. In a bid to end factionalism in the party ahead of assembly polls in Haryana, the Congress last month named Kumari Selja chief of its state unit, replacing Tanwar, and appointed Hooda as chairperson of the election management committee.

However, Tanwar and Hooda has been fighting openly with former CM's supporters claiming that the situation in the Congress worsened in Haryana due to Tanwar.

Meanwhile, the infighting reached the doorstep of party president Sonia Gandhi with Ashok Tanwar and his supporters protesting on Wednesday outside her 10 Janpath residence alleging corruption in distribution of tickets for the upcoming assembly polls.

As his supporters raised slogans against management committee chief Bhupender Hooda, Tanwar alleged that tickets were being distributed on whims and fancies and were being "sold". People are saying that the ticket for the Sohna Assembly seat has been sold for Rs 5 crore, he said.
