Former BSF jawan Tej Bahadur Yadav, who failed to contest against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Lok Sabha Election, will now challenge Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on ticket of Jannayak Janta Party. JJP announced its fourth list of 30 candidates for the upcoming Haryana Assembly polls on Thursday.
Jannayak Janta Party leader Dushyant Chautala will contest from Uchana Kalana seat. He will take on BJP's sitting MLA Prem Lata.
JJP has fielded former BSF jawan Tej Bahadur Yadav from Karnal to take on CM Khattar. Yadav was dismissed from BSF in 2017 after he posted a video complaining about the quality of food served to the troops of the force. He had recently joined the Jannayak Janata Party.
In the Lok Sabha election, Tej Bahadur was fielded by the Samajwadi Party against Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Varanasi but the Election Commission rejected the BSF personnel’s nomination, saying he had not furnished all the details sought.
Among other candidates whose names were announced by JJP on Thursday was former MLA Arjun Singh, who has been fielded from Jagadhri. So far, the party has announced 72 candidates.

The JJP, which came into existence after a vertical split in the INLD following a feud within the Chautala clan, is contesting the next month’s poll alone.
The poll to the 90-member Haryana Assembly will be held on October 21. The last day for filing nomination is October 4. The final results will be declared on October 24 after counting of votes.
