New Delhi:

Not everyone is happy at Gopal Kanda extending support to BJP to form government is Haryana. BJP leader and former Union minister Uma Bharti has a word of advice for her party. In a series of tweets senior BJP leader Uma Bharti has warned her party against taking support from rape accused leader Gopal Kanda in Haryana.

"I have received information that we may get the support of an independent MLA named Gopal Kanda. I have something to say on this," she said, "This is the same Gopal Kanda because of whom a girl committed suicide and then her mother committed suicide after not getting justice, the case is still pending in court, and this person is out on bail. Whether Gopal Kanda is innocent or criminal, the law will decided on the basis of evidence, but winning this election does not acquit him of his crimes. There are many factors in winning an election."

Haryana Lokhit Party leader Gopal Kanda has been at forefront of the government building process in Haryana so far. He played a crucial role in negotiations with the Independent MLAs and was the first to say that he and the seven Independents will support BJP.

Facing charges of abetment to suicide in connection with the death of an airhostess in 2012, Kanda said all allegations against him were baseless and he would emerge clean.

Congress too attacked the BJP for taking support from Kanda.

Congress spokesperson Surjewala said, "Just check the statement of BJP leaders about Gopal Kanda in 2012 and today they are taking support of the same Kanda. Then the Congress government had removed him and registered a case against him. But today he has become pious again."

"BJP has lost the moral right to rule Harayana, where all of Khattar's ministers except two lost the election. The BJP has been decisively rejected and Haryana will witness 'aaya ram gaya ram' politics in the state again," Surjewala added.
