A video of Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar threatening to chop off his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker’s head is going viral on social media. In the video, posted by Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala on Wednesday, Khattar is seen standing with an axe during his recent 'Jan Ashirwad Yatra'.
Holding an axe, Khattar can been seen telling the public how it can be used to destroy enemies. Soon after that, a BJP worker standing behind Khattar places a crown on his head.
Looked annoyed, the Haryana chief minister turns with the axe and threatened to chop off the worker’s head. "What are you doing? I will chop off your head. Move aside," Khattar can be heard saying the BJP leader apologises for his action.
"गरà¥Âदन काट दूंगा तेरी" ⬇ï¸Â
फिर जनता के साथ कà¥Âया करेंगे? pic.twitter.com/hCQJAlG7Sx— Randeep Singh Surjewala (@rssurjewala) September 11, 2019
Surjewala hit out at Khattar, saying: "Anger and ego are harmful to health. Why does Khattar sir get angry? If this is what he says to his leader, wonder what will he do with the public," Surjewala wrote on Twitter in Hindi.
Khattar, replying to a question about the video, said the party had ended such culture after coming to power.
"If someone, especially my party worker, tries to place a silver crown on my head, I will get angry and will not tolerate it. We have ended this culture after coming to power," he said, adding that the party worker did not have to feel bad about it.
This is not the first time Khattar has lost his cool. Earlier, the Haryana CM had pushed aside a man who was trying to take a selfie with him at an event in Karnal.
