The extensive campaigning for the 224-member Karnataka Assembly elections would come to an end on Thursday evening with the model code of conduct being applicable in the southern state.
On the last day of the poll campaign, both the rival parties—the Congress and The BJP—would go with full force to attack each other and woo their voters.
The political blamegame and mudslinging that started on Tuesday after thousands of voter ID cards were found in a flat that allegedly belonged to a former BJP Corporator, were also expected to intensify on Thursday.
For the Congress, party president Rahul Gandhi will hold a press conference in Bengaluru, where he is expected to hit back at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the issue of voter ID cards recovered from the house of a former BJP Corporator.
For the BJP, PM Modi, party president Amit Shah, and chief ministers of several states will hold rallies and road shows in a bid to swing voters mood in their favour.
While Modi will address the SC/ST/OBC and Slum Morcha workers of BJP via Narendra Modi app, Shah will hold a roadshow to challenge Siddaramaiah in his constituency Badami.
