New Delhi:

If you are thinking that Congress president Rahul Gandhi has accepted defeat just days before Assembly elections in Karnataka, you are wrong. The Gandhi scion is a little more hard nut to crack than we all think.

The Congress president, who is getting wittier each day, actually took a dig at the saffron party when he said that the “BJP wins hands down in Karnataka”.

When he declared the BJP winner, he didn’t mean Karnataka Assembly elections but “corruption” where the saffron party defeated Congress.

“In Karnataka, when it comes to corruption, it’s a “No Contest” as this graphic shows. The BJP wins hands down!” Rahul tweeted on Wednesday.

Along with the tweet, Rahul shared a picture comparing Congress’ five years in Karnataka with BJP’s five-year rule in the southern state.

Rahul claimed that during the 2013-18 tenure of Siddaramaiah government, Karnataka became the top job creator state in the country, while during BJP’s government (2008-13), its chief minister BS Yeddyurappa was jailed in Denotification Scam.

He said that while Siddaramaiah government launched Anna Bhagya scheme which was feeding four crore people, the erstwhile Yeddyurappa-led BJP government was involved in India’s largest poaching scandal – ‘Operation Kamala’.

On one hand, Siddaramaiah government built Asia’s largest drip irrigation project, on the other, Yeddyurappa government pioneered “cashless corruption” by taking bribe in cheque, the Congress leader claimed.

During the Congress rule, world’s largest solar park was built in Karnataka, while in BJP’s tenure, party’s minister Krishnaiah Shetty was jailed in a land grab case, he added.
