Sitting BJP MLA BN Vijayakumar from Jayanagar assembly segment, breathed his last on Friday in Bengaluru, the party informed. He was 60.
The two-time lawmaker, who was contesting from the same seat in the Karnataka Assembly elections, suffered a cardiac arrest while campaigning. His last rites will be performed on Friday.
The veteran leader, who joined Bharatiya Janta Party in 1990, was admitted to super speciality hospital Jayadeva Institute of Cardiac Sciences and Research Centre, after he collapsed on Thursday evening.
BJP remembered Vijayakumar’s commitment & hardwork and said that it was a great loss for the party.

BJP’s state unit Chief BS Yeddyurappa mourned his death and said the party would work to strengthen his ideals.

BJP Chief Amit Shah took to Twitter to express his grief at the loss of his party leader.
