The Congress on Saturday released its manifesto for the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections 2018. Titled “Vachan Patra (Promissory note)”, the manifesto was released in the presence of Congress party's likely CM candidate Jyotiraditya Scindia, Kamal Nath, Digvijay Singh and other state party leaders.
In the “Vachan Patra”, the Congress party has promised to pay Rs 10,000 as Unemployment Allowance to one unemployed youth of a family. The Congress party has also promised to wave farm loans and reduce electricity bill of farmers by 50 per cent.
“We will reduce the electricity bill of farmers by 50%, reduce diesel & petrol prices and open 'Gaushalas' in every Gram Panchayat among other things mentioned in our election manifesto,” Madhya Pradesh Congress Chief Kamal Nath said.
Senior Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia termed the manifesto a Promissory note with positive and progressive thinking.
“We have positive, progressive thinking. This is the first time a party is putting forward not just an election manifesto but a Promissory note,” Scindia said while releasing the manifesto.'
