Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray took oath as the new chief minister of Maharashtra on Thursday. The historic Shivaji Park in Dadar west was decked up for the mega event - the swearing-in of Uddhav Thackeray. According to a senior Sena leader, who met the Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari earlier along with leaders of the NCP and the Congress, said Thackeray will take oath as the chief minister at 6:40 pm. The Shiv Sena, the NCP and the Congress has named Uddhav Thackeray as the chief ministerial nominee of their 'Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi' that formed the next government in the state.

"We had come to request Pawar saheb to make our MLA Bhalke Bharat, a minister in the cabinet. I think he will think positively about our proposal," NCP workers from Pandharpur told chief Sharad Pawar at his residence.
