On Monday, polling began for Maharashtra and Haryana Assembly elections 2019. Elections began at 7 am in Maharashtra and will continue till 6 pm. As expected, Mumbai’s film fraternity also stepped out to cast their votes.
Kiran Rao, Aamir Khan and Kunal Kohli were some of the first celebrities to step out and cast their votes in the city. Aamir and Kiran posed for the cameras outside the booth and showed their inked fingers to the paparazzi.
"What I thought are important issues, I kept that in mind and voted. I urge everyone to come out and vote in large numbers. Every citizen of Maharashtra should come out to cast vote and take part in this process," Khan told reporters.

Madhuri Dixit also stepped out to cast her vote in Bandra (West). She posed for the paparazzi after casting the vote. She was seen in a white shirt and trousers.

Lara Dutta also arrived to cast her vote with her husband Mahesh Bhupathi. The couple posed together outside the poll station afterwards. While she was seen in a yellow dress, Bhupathi wore a light blue shirt and denim jeans.

Actor Ravi Kishen arrived at the Mumbai’s Goregaon & Andheri (West) constituency to cast his vote. The actor-turned-politician also urged people to exercise their franchise in order to make India a ''superpower''.
Actor Padmini Kolhapure was also present in the same area of Mumbai to exercise her franchise. “I have a flight to catch but I arrived half an early to cast my vote because voting is very important for the betterment of India and for the betterment of each human being,” said the 53-year-old actor.
In Mumbai, 9,894 polling stations have been set up at 1,537 locations. 36 out of 288 seats come in the city of Mumbai where 334 candidates are in the fray. The city has 97.72 lakh registered voters. Counting of votes will be held on October 24.
