Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday slammed the leaders of Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) for opposing the Government’s move on national security. Addressing a rally at Satara in poll-bound Maharashtra, PM Modi said, “Whenever the Congress-NCP leaders question the bravery of our jawans, the people, and land of Satara is hurt. When they poorly advertise against the technologically modern Rafale deal, nationalism is hurt.” “The Opposition always opposes every decision taken by the government’s move on national security,” he added.
Taking a dig at the Congress-NCP alliance in the state, PM Modi said that people will punish Congress-NCP as they did during Lok Sabha polls. “Congress-NCP leaders are unable to understand the mood of the people. They were punished in the Lok Sabha elections. This time the people will give them harsh punishment in the upcoming elections too, be it in Maharashtra or Haryana,” he said.
On criticism over Article 370 abrogation, the prime minister said, “The entire Satara gets angry when these leaders spread false rumours about Article 370 and try to defame leaders like Veer Savarkar. These leaders are failing to understand the emotions of the entire nation, and it has been proven by the Lok Sabha polls.”
PM Modi, on the occasion, also targeted the Congress-NCP alliance over infighting. He said, “There is division within their alliance and also inside individual parties.”
