Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) election campaign in Nashik on Thursday. This is PM Modi's first public meeting in Maharashtra after the mammoth victory of the party in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Before leaving for Nashik, PM Modi heaped praise on Fadnavis, calling him a dynamic leader and praised his stellar leadership. "I will join the programme marking the conclusion of the Maha Janadesh Yatra of Maharashtra’s dynamic CM Devendra Fadnavis Ji. Under his stellar leadership, Maharashtra has seen unparalleled progress and stability..." he tweeted.

  • "In the first 100 days, there is a glimpse of the point of view of the new India, there is the message of global power of India, there is the belief of welfare, there is efforts for development of country's economic structure & creation of new job opportunities."
  • PM Modi said: "When I came to you during LS elections I had told you that the pace of development will be increased, it'll be done within a time frame & I'll come to you time to time with answers. We just completed the first 100 days & the first century is before you." 
  • In his speech, PM Modi also hailed CM Fadnavis as the youth icon. He added that Under his stellar leadership, Maharashtra has seen unparalleled progress and stability.
  • Adressing the gathering, PM Modi welcomed Chhatrapati Udayanraje to the BJP family. He thanked him for the 'pagdi' and added that he will fight for Maratha for whole life.

  • On Wednesday, CM Devendra Fadnavis held a road show in Nashik, which covered all the three Assembly segments - Nashik East, Nashik West and Nashik Central. All these seats are being held by BJP MLAs.
