The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday announced candidates for four Assembly seats in Odisha. Murali Sharma will contest from Champua constituency, while Chhabi Mallick has been given the ticket from Niali (SC). The party has also fielded Manas Mohanty from Bhogarai, while Raghunath Mohanty will contest from Basta seat.
On Monday, the party had released the names of 11 candidates for the state assembly polls, which will be held in four phases starting from April 11 and ending on April 29. The BJP has so far announced candidates for all the Lok Sabha seats which will go to polls in the first four phases of the seven-phased election. The general elections will begin from April 11 and continue till May 19. The counting of votes will be held on May 23.
