Rajput organisation Shri Rajput Karni Sena announced on Saturday it will support Samta Andolan Samiti that has declared to field candidates from all 59 assembly constituencies reserved for SC/ST candidates in poll-bound Rajasthan.
The Samiti, is an organisation which campaigns for changes in the caste-based reservation system.
Polls to the 200-member Rajasthan assembly are due on December 7.
Founder and chief patron, Karni Sena, Lokendra Singh Kalvi, said the Samta Andolan will contest all the 59 seats reserved for schedule caste and schedule tribe candidates under its ‘Mission- 59’.

The Karni Sena will support them and a decision about the rest of the 141 seats will be taken later, he said.
“The Samta Andolan has decided to field its candidates (on issues related to reservation) on all the seats reserved for SC/ST candidates and we will support them. The decision on rest of the seats will be taken in next few days,” he told reporters after holding a meeting of the Karni Sena at Vidhyadhar Nagar area here.
Chairman, Samta Andolan, Parashar Narayan welcomed the move, saying this will strengthen his organisation.
Narayan informed that his organisation has finalised his support for candidates of 20 out of 59 seats.
