Telangana is gearing up to welcome Congress party president Rahul Gandhi as he visits the state on October 20 in the run-up to the state Assembly elections on December 7. As special arrangements are being put in place for the visit, Pradesh Congress Committee Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy and other party leaders Monday inspected the arrangements where Rahul will address public meetings.

Rahul Gandhi would address two public meetings in Telangana on October 20 – at Bhainsa and Kamareddy. Before he sets off for the public meetings, he would hoist the Congress flag near Charminar in Hyderabad and hold a public meeting on the occasion of Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana Yatra commemoration day, party sources said.

Former Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh K Rosaiah will be conferred the Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana Yatra commemoration award.
Reddy and others on Monday left from Hyderabad by a chopper to Bhainsa near Adilabad.  

Addressing the public there, Reddy highlighted the promises of the Congress party for the December 7Legislative Assembly elections. He also lashed out at the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) government in Telangana for allegedly ignoring the people in the state.

The Congress party in Telangana has formed an alliance with the Telugu Desam Party, CPI and Telangana Jana Samiti (TJS).

The last time Rahul Gandhi visited Telangana in August, he interacted with several women of Self Help Groups (SHGs) and others in the state.
The state Congress is hopeful that Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Bhainsa and Kamareddy would boost its prospects in the coming assembly elections.
