The Congress-led grand alliance on Thursday finalised its seat-sharing deal among partners for the upcoming Telangana Assembly Elections in December this year, according to a key AICC functionary. While the Rahul Gandhi-led Congress will be fielding its members from 93 constituencies, the TDP will contest from 14 seats in Telangana Elections 2018.

Out of the Congress's 93 seats, 74 have already been cleared by Chief Election Commissioner OP Rawat. Taking about other political parties in the fray, CPI and Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) will contest from 3 and 8 seats respectively. There are total 119 seats in the Telangana Assembly.

"14 TDP, 8 Telangana Jana Samithi, 3 CPI and rest of the 93 seats will be contested by Congress out of which 74 seats have been cleared by CEC," RC Khuntia, the AICC in-charge of Telangana affairs told ANI.

With this, the week-long negotiations between the Congress and its electoral partners - the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) and the Communist Party of India (CPI) have come to an end.

The TRS and the BJP are going it alone in the poll, the notification for which would be issued on November 12. Polling in Telangana will take place on December 7 and the counting of votes is scheduled to be held on December 11, 2018.
