A woman leader of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has again threatened to commit suicide if she was not allotted ticket to contest from Huzurnagar assembly constituency for the next month’s elections. For the past few months Kasoju Shankaramma, TRS in-charge of Huzurnagar constituency in Suryapet district has been requesting the party leadership to consider her name for the Huzurnagar seat and had been threatening to commit suicide if she was denied ticket.

Shankaramma, mother of Telangana Martyr Srikantha Chary, Tuesday told reporters here that she will commit suicide if she was not nominated from Huzurnagar.

According to her she has strengthened the party in the constituency and enrolled thousands of members into the party.

I want ticket for Huzurnagar constituency. I put in efforts and developed the party in Huzurnagar. Last time I won more than 46,000 votes, she said.

TRS has earlier announced candidates for 107 seats (out of the total 119) after the assembly was dissolved prematurely in September.

Huzurnagar is among the constituencies for which the ruling the party has not announced its candidates.

There have been reports that TRS may field Saidi Reddy, an NRI who joined the party recently, from Huzurnagar.
