Bahujan Samaj Party’s veteran leader Swami Prasad Maurya has reportedly decided to join Bharatiya Janta Party.
According to sources, the Leader of Opposition for BSP will be formally accept the party’s membership at 12 noon on Monday at BJP’s central headquarters in New Delhi.
During the membership process, BJP’s Uttar Pradesh Chief Keshav Prasad Maurya is also expected to be present. The ceremony will be performed by Amit Shah, NJP’s national president.
Currently, Swami Prasad represents the Padrauna constituency of Uttar Pradesh and is a member of the Bahujan Samajwadi Party political party. Maurya has been a Member of the legislative assembly for four terms, has been minister in the government of Uttar Pradesh, Leader of the house and Leader of opposition. He is currently Leader of Opposition in the Sixteenth Legislative Assembly of Uttar Pradesh.
